BICYCLE–E・MOBILITY CITY EXPO 2025: Community Development through Bicycles and Electric Mobility Devices
On June 11, 2025, Governor Koike attended the “BICYCLE-E・MOBILITY CITY EXPO 2025: Community Development through Bicycles and Electric Mobility Devices,” hosted by the BICYCLE–E・MOBILITY CITY EXPO 2025 Executive Committee and held at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building in Shinjuku Ward.
The governor said, “To achieve zero emissions by 2050, Tokyo aims to make 100% of new passenger cars sold in the city non-gasoline powered by 2030 and 100% of new motorcycles non-gasoline powered by 2035. To achieve these goals, we are supporting both the purchase of electric motorcycles and EVs, as well as the installation of charging facilities. Furthermore, this fiscal year, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has launched initiatives to subsidize the purchase of dedicated chargers and the usage fees for battery-sharing services to promote the spread of electric motorcycles.
“Tokyo is a place where many people and new technologies converge. That is why each one’s choice can change society. If our behaviors change, we can create a city that is even more environmentally friendly. We want to build a Tokyo like that. Let’s work together to realize a sustainable future,” she said.
