Governor Visits Newly Created Innovation Center of TUAT in Western Tokyo

On April 25, 2025, Governor Koike visited an innovation center newly created on the Fuchu Campus of the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in Fuchu, western Tokyo.

This hub, which this national university named “TUAT∞MUSASHI ENG, INNOVATION CENTER,” is a center established on April 19 to promote industry-academia collaboration, new business development, and the fostering of startups needed for these efforts, under its major themes of “agriculture,” “food,” and “energy.”

After the tour, the governor said, “In considering how to realize a sustainable livestock industry, I also visited a poultry house designed with animal welfare in mind. I also heard about a virtuous cycle in which the hens lay highly nutritious eggs, which in turn contribute to the health of the people who consume them. Furthermore, a coworking space has been established to incubate startups. I was deeply impressed by the creation of a venue that connects research to actual business. Drawing a lesson from this visit, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government intends to move forward with discussions to deploy new forms of agriculture unique to Tokyo.”
