Tokyo Municipality DX Connect Day 2025
Governor Koike attended the Tokyo Municipality DX Connect Day 2025 on December 24.
The event has been annually organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government since 2023 to share excellent cases of digital transformation (DX) undertaken by the 23 special wards and other municipalities across Tokyo. It is aimed at creating collaborations among municipal offices, companies and other entities.
The governor told the participants, including local administrators, that people have been encouraged to change their mindset from before to after the coronavirus pandemic— from “B.C. (Before Covid)” to “A.D. (Age of Digital).”
“We live in a time of rapid change,“ she said, “and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, wards, cities, towns and villages must harness the full power of digital technology to tackle various challenges.”
The governor hopes that the day’s connections will “sow seeds for further DX, nurture new ideas, and blossom into services that allow Tokyo residents to truly experience convenience and quality of life.“
“Let us unite the strengths of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, GovTech Tokyo, and all 62 wards, cities, towns and villages across Tokyo,” she said. “And together—as ‘All Tokyo’—let us firmly build a new era, from B.C. to A.D.”
(GovTech Tokyo is an organization launched in 2023 with the support of the metropolitan government to drive digital transformation of public services.)
