Governor meets with the Arab Diplomatic Corps
On Wednesday, February 13, Governor Koike met with the Arab Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
In her greetings, Governor Koike expressed her gratitude to the ambassadors for donating mobile phones to the Tokyo 2020 Medal Project: Towards an Innovative Future for All, saying, “I am confident that with your cooperation, the relationship between Japan and the Arab countries, and Tokyo and the cities of your countries will be strengthened.”
Ambassador Waleed Siam, Representative of the Permanent General Mission of Palestine and Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo, explained that the mobile phone donations by the ambassadors were a token of their support for and friendship with Japan and that they will all make efforts to continue developing stronger relationships between Japan and the Arab countries.
Ambassador Ahmed Araita Ali of the Republic of Djibouti and President of the Arab Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo, emphasized their view of sport as a universal language and that the Arab Diplomatic Corps members look forward to working with the governor for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020.
