Tokyo Financial Award: Announcement of the Winning-Companies and the Award Ceremony

 

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is pleased to announce that the winning companies for the Tokyo financial Award have been selected.
Part of the “Global Financial City: Tokyo” Vision 2.0, the Tokyo Financial Awardis given to financial businesses that promote ESG investment, as well as those that develop and provide innovative financial products and services to contribute to solving problems and meeting the needs of the people and businesses in Tokyo.
We will be hosting an award ceremony for the successful companies on Monday, February 6th. The overview of the ceremony is provided at the end of the press release. Coverage information for the press will be announced at a later date.

  • A prepaid card for elderly customers with dementia.
  • Includes services such as family monitoring (remote tracking of usage history, balance top-up etc.) and service suspension in case of card loss.
  • Contributes to reducing the burden on caregivers, promotes financial inclusion for the elderly and provides the ease of cashless payment.
2nd Place BetterData Pte. Ltd.

Services that promote data utilization
  • An AI Privacy Platform that anonymizes, synthesizes and analyzes personal data for regulated industries such as Finance, Insurance, Healthcare, and Government.
  • Companies will be able to use synthetic data to develop new products and services, as well as monetize their data without violating data protection regulations.
  • Future plans to expand this service to Japan.
3rd Place Bee Informatica Sdn. Bhd.
(Japan)
Improved loan services (cut down of costs/time etc.)
  • A quick loans service in Malaysia offering loans to small businesses without an established credit score.
  • Utilizes a “psychometric test” that scores entrepreneurship, financial literacy and compliance awareness etc.
  • Future plans to expand this service to Japan.

  • Since July 2022, focuses on e-bike financing to reduce CO2 emissions

  • Provides an ophthalmic medical device (Smart Eye Camera) that can be attached to a smartphone.
  • With the device, ophthalmic diseases can be diagnosed using AI or remote medical examination
  • Contributes to SDGs (Goal3: Good Health and Well-being) by facilitating the early detection of blindness among patients on remote islands or in developing countries where access to medical facilities is not readily available.
sustainacraft, Inc
(Japan)
  • Service utilizing satellite data analysis to evaluate forest conservation projects (with criteria such as CO2 absorption, etc.) for carbon credit customers.
  • Encourages fund flow to high-quality carbon credit generation projects.
*The Governor's Special Prize for Green Finance is awarded to a business from the ESG Investment Category that is particularly outstanding in its green finance initiatives.
