23rd Meeting of the Edo Tokyo Kirari Project Promotion Committee

On August 31, Governor Koike attended the “23rd Meeting of the Edo Tokyo Kirari Project Promotion Committee.”

Governor Koike stated, “A new cultural hub, which we had you take up for discussion, is being created in the form of ‘TOFROM’ in Yaesu. I do hope that ‘EDO TOKYO KIRARI,’ to be established there as the first permanent base (for Tokyo’s traditional craftsmanship), will also become a major tourist spot. I believe we must continue to take various initiatives, such as displaying and selling the finest products of artisans, having them give live demonstrations, and allowing visitors to enjoy and witness crafting experiences firsthand.

“The Edo-Tokyo Museum has been renewed and is extremely popular. We will also use that venue as a base to strategically promote the ‘Edo Tokyo Campaign,’ showcasing Tokyo’s diverse charm, including fashion and anime. We aim to enhance our presence with various suggestions you will provide to us,” she said.
